Now in its seventh decade of sharing our hobby,The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers enjoys space in the Dole Center, a Park District of Oak Park multi-function building originally built as a school. Membership has grown to over 100.  The layout is based on the Chicago Great Western line from Chicago to Olwein, Iowa. We have built a three-level model connected by a helix on either end of the room. Our route takes us from Chicago to Oak Park, then to Stockton, past Galena across the Mississippi and into Iowa. Club members can operate club owned engines and rolling stock or bring their own. Scenes along the line are set in the late 1950's.
